Meet the Team
Write something about the people who make your business go or your philosophy behind customer service.
Why? Because people want to know who they're doing business with. It's a human thing.
Clerk of Session
Beth resides in Bloomsburg with her husband Eric Deeter and their mini goldendoodle Lily. Lily is just a pup and has taken over the household as well as their hearts. She and Eric enjoy golf, dining out and time with friends. They look forward to meeting our first grandchild this Spring.
Beth was a deacon for 6 years prior to becoming an Elder and now Clerk. She has been blessed to become a church officer because she got to know many people better while working alongside them. It is a joy for her to serve.
Beth came to Grove with her one year old son wanting him to experience Sunday School and church life. Well, that happened…and along with it she found lifelong friends, help when in need, forgiveness and people to learn from and walk beside throughout life. Grove is welcoming, passionate for fellowship, mission, bible study and life together, and laughs
Director of Christian Education
Lynne is the Director of Christian Education, Cherub Choir Director and Kindermusik Teacher. She is a Certified Christian Educator PCUSA, Licensed Kindermusik Teacher, Early Childhood Education Professor, with more than 38 years teaching experience in church and public settings.
She is Passionate about family and young children, my greatest joy is nurturing children in God’s worshiping family. Grove is a special place where children are welcomed in worship. A current joy is watching my daughter and son-in-law nurture my grandson in two worship traditions. In spare time, I enjoy crocheting, reading, watching old movies with my husband, researching family history, and attending the opera with my son.
Director of Music
Joy grew up in Northern, Pennsylvania and started playing the organ when she was give years old. She played in churches since her teen years.
She loves and appreciates the hills and mountains of our beautiful state. She’s been a registered nurse since 1979 and worked in Emergency/Critical Care Medicine and administration. She and her husband Gary have owned a real estate business since 1998 where she is the principal broker.
Joy loves Grove because of the energy, openness, sense of community and commitment to living the Gospel message of love. She is excited to be able to introduce new music experiences to Grove. Working with her colleague Brian and the Choir is a true joy; directing the Bell Choir was a necessity, but has turned out to be a lot of fun for her. She also enjoys doing special projects at Grove like Advent wreath and Pentecost ribbons.
The most important thing she has done in her life is raise two daughters (a social worker and a registered nurse) who are married to wonderful son-in-laws. She is excited for grandchildren in the very near future. Joy also has a little black dog, Sophie, and a Siamese kitty, Moo-Shu who are buddies.
Brian directs the Grove Senior Choir. His love of choral music started as a child when he sang in the Grove Junior Choir in the early 1980s. Brian studied choral music under the direction of Dr. Christopher Shepard in high school. In college, Brian directed the "Georgetown Phantoms" a co-ed acappella group which performed for President Clinton at the White House and at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. Today, Brian sings with the Susquehanna Valley Chorale under the Direction of Dr. William Payn.
Brian is very thankful for the opportunity to direct the choir at Grove: "I was thinking about cool it would be to someday literally sing in God's choir -- then it dawned on me, we are doing that right now! If anyone has ever considered singing in the choir, it's a wonderful place where fellowship, music, and laughter meet. Everyone is welcome... Please join us whenever you are able!"
Brian is the proud father of two boys, Owen and Ben, both of whom sign in the Junior Choir at Grove.
Christian resides in Danville with his beautiful wife Alyssa and cuddly Bernese mountain dog, Charlie. They enjoy dinging out together, golfing and trips to the beach.
Christian has been coming to Grove since he was one-year old. Throughout high school and college Christian was in several leadership roles which naturally made him a great fit for Youth Group leader. He enjoys getting together with Grove’s Youth and teaching them not only about the word of the Lord but serves as a resource for them to confide in and talk to.
